| The Wisconsin Union, often referred to as "the heart and soul" of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, has enhanced the lives of members and visitors since it was founded in 1907. Since 1928, when the doors to Memorial Union opened, the Wisconsin Union has served as the living room of the UW-Madison campus. The Union connects students, faculty, staff, members and visitors through shared cultural, social and recreational events and experiences.

Position Summary/Job Duties:
| Duties & ResponsibilitiesAid student organizations, university departments, and Wisconsin Union members in reserving common meeting room spaces and classrooms in Union buildings and campus classroomsObtain basic information about events from coordinators that will help identify which meeting space is best suited for eventBe available during work hours to answer questions about spaces or take reservation details by phone, email, or walk-ins.Understand and regularly use the event scheduling software (EMS) used in Campus Event Services Office, along with other programs (25Live, WhentoWork, etc.) Learn various Wisconsin Union and campus policies to best advise customersLearn names, locations, and features of Wisconsin Union meeting rooms, as well as various campus meeting spacesCommunicate with other Union departments and Union membersUse a variety of communication mediums to gather group information, event logistics, AV/equipment needs, catering needs, and billing information Create and maintain event set-up diagrams using diagramming softwarePerform clerical tasks such as copying, maintaining spreadsheets, and updating various materials, etc
Qualifications:
| Interest in a career in events/conference planning or project management.Experience in written and verbal communication with clientele.Ability to work with diverse groups and adapt to change quickly.Ability to work in a professional office, both as part of a team and independently.Effectively and efficiently, manage multiple projects while adhering to tight deadlines.Strong knowledge and experience with spreadsheets, especially Microsoft Excel.Previous customer service and office work experience is required.Student StatusTo be eligible for the Wisconsin Union positions, you must be currently enrolled in a college, university, or highschool (at least 16). If school is in break period (summer, spring, winter), applicant must intend to enroll in courses the following semester.
