The Finance Operations Coordinator position offers the ability to work independently as well as in a supportive team atmosphere. You will have the opportunity to perform a wide variety of administrative business functions including payroll, human resources, budgeting, procurement, employee reimbursements, trainings, and reporting in support of multiple departments and programs across campus.

Minimum Education and Experience  | Bachelor’s degree and four years of general office, accounting or business related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Education and Experience  | Proficiency in Microsoft Office with emphasis in Excel is a plus. A successful candidate must be a self-starter, who is detail oriented, has the ability to meet deadline-oriented tasks, possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills. Applicant must be able to adjust readily to multiple demands and shifting priorities and work well in a team environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 
HR/Payroll – Initiates employee payroll requests, termination, new position creations, reclassifications, and title changes. Manages new hire onboarding for select departments across campus.  Budgeting/Accounting/Reporting – Prepares accounting, finance, and human resources related ad-hoc reports for select departments and programs across campus. Administers cost center (account) creation/changes and department creation/changes. Reconcile and process budget journals and IDT journals. Review monthly financial statements to identify errors and omissions. Procurement/Reimbursements – Processes travel reimbursements and payment vouchers, coordinates computer and equipment purchases, and handles check requests.Works with external vendors on revenue and university central payments.Supports team during presentations of internal or external training. Additional duties as assigned.
