| Job Summary | The Utah Education and Telehealth Network (UETN) keeps Utah’s schools, libraries, and healthcare providers connected with reliable, statewide internet service. The Marketing and Communications Specialist supports social media, website, and email communications that strengthen awareness of UEN and UTN services and initiatives. The ideal candidate is a positive, detail-oriented team player with a working knowledge of social media and design. Marketing Communication Specialists Engage in the development and execution of strategic marketing communications to efficiently support product launch campaigns and company brand across various communication channels. Create communication programs that promote the organization and its products and services through various means including blogs and social media, websites, product collateral, logos, or other promotional products. Collaborate with external partners/vendors to execute promotional events and campaigns. Develop a calendar for social media campaigns and initiatives to ensure constant interaction and engagement with customers and prospects. Assist in analyzing marketing data to help shape future marketing strategies. | Responsibilities | • Works with a team to develop and implement marketing campaigns across social media, email, and print channels. • Creates campaign assets using Canva or similar design software. • Monitors and evaluates campaign performance using key metrics and makes recommendations as needed. • Builds and maintains positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support organizational goals. • Manages multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to established timelines and project requirements. • Coordinates the design, printing, mailing and distribution of promotional materials. • Writes and edits marketing and communications content, including support for the creation and publication of UEN and UTN monthly newsletters. • Assists with planning, promotion, and staffing events that support UEN and UTN initiatives. Marketing Communication Specialist, I Engage in the development and execution of strategic marketing communications to efficiently support product launch campaigns and company brand across various communication channels. Create communication programs that promote the organization and its products and services through various means including blogs and social media, websites, product collateral, logos, or other promotional products. Collaborate with external partners/vendors to execute promotional events and campaigns. Assist in analyzing marketing data to help shape future marketing strategies. Requires basic skill set and proficiency. Conducts work assignments as directed. Closely supervised with little latitude for independent judgment. Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience or a master’s (or equivalency) degree. This is an Entry-Level position in the General Professional track. Job Code: P22351 Grade: P13 Marketing Communication Specialist, II Engage in the development and execution of strategic marketing communications to efficiently support product launch campaigns and company brand across various communication channels. Create communication programs that promote the organization and its products and services through various means including blogs and social media, websites, product collateral, logos, or other promotional products. Collaborate with external partners/vendors to execute promotional events and campaigns. Develop a calendar for social media campaigns and initiatives to ensure constant interaction and engagement with customers and prospects. Assist in analyzing marketing data to help shape future marketing strategies. Requires moderate skill set and proficiency in discipline. Conducts work assignments of increasing complexity, under moderate supervision with some latitude for independent judgment. Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 4 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience. This is a Developing-Level position in the General Professional track. | Minimum Qualifications |
EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience). Department may hire employee at one of the following job levels:
Marketing Communication Specialist, I: Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience or a master’s (or equivalency) degree. Marketing Communication Specialist, II: Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 4 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience. |
| Preferences | • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills. • Ability to prioritize work and meet multiple, and often competing, deadlines. • Experience with digital marketing, including campaign analytics and performance reporting. • Working knowledge of Asana, Emma, and Hootsuite or similar project management and marketing platforms. • Graphic design experience, particularly with Canva or Adobe Creative Cloud applications. • Experience creating and editing short-form video content. |
