QA Engineer 2 Frontline Central

We are seeking a QA Engineer 2 to participate in the agile development team by performing the necessary software testing functions increasing the quality of the products and ultimate client experience. This role constructs, documents, and performs various manual and automated testing efforts. It is a fast-paced and exciting role that provides opportunities to work on a wide array of projects.

This role reports to a Team Lead and works closely with Engineering, Architecture, Product, Customer Success, SassIO and Strategic Partners to deliver solutions that simplify the daily work life of the front line of education.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate the ability to acquire new skills and techniques and apply them within assigned testing tasks
  • Evaluate, document, and communicate test results including any defects found during the test execution
  • Author, maintain, and execute functional test cases and test plans for moderately complex stories
  • Receive direction and coaching from more experienced engineers and assist less experienced engineers
  • Collaborate with other engineers on the team and across the technology organization
  • Author, maintain, and execute automation tests for non-complex stories
  • Participate in reviewing and providing feedback of test cases authored within the team
  • Provide high level estimates of QA activities at a ticket level
  • Manage time effectively and deliver on commitments that are made
  • Strive to deliver high-quality work as opposed to just “completing the task”
  • Significant contributor to the team sprint commitment
  • Participate in discussions with other team members regarding project details

Qualifications

  • Essential:
    • 2-5 years of experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
    • Proven ability to create thorough test plans for feature enhancements to complex web applications and REST APIs, adhering to best practices.
    • Hands-on experience writing UI automation tests using Selenium or similar tools with .NET or compatible frameworks.
    • Proficiency in coding languages like C# and JavaScript.
    • Experience using Postman or similar tools for API testing.
    • Ability to develop robust and reliable test automation scripts that accurately execute and validate test case workflows.
    • Experience maintaining automated testing suites, ensuring they function seamlessly as applications evolve
    • Familiarity with testing frameworks like NUnit, xUnit, or MSTest.
    • Experience with git & GitHub version control systems.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Preferred:
    • Experience with CI/CD tools like TeamCity, Octopus, or Codefresh.
    • Familiarity with performance testing tools like JMeter.
