Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager of Quality Assurance with extensive experience in test automation to lead Stride’s quality assurance efforts. The ideal candidate will oversee the QA team, implement testing strategies, and enhance our automation frameworks to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products. This role requires a strong technical background in automated testing tools, methodologies, and practices.

  • Leadership and Strategy:
    • Lead and mentor the QA team, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
    • Develop and execute QA strategies and best practices for both manual and automated testing.
  • Test Automation:
    • Design, implement, and maintain robust test automation frameworks.
    • Identify areas for automation and develop automated test scripts for functional, performance, and regression testing.
    • Ensure automated tests are integrated into the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Define and enforce quality standards and procedures across all development projects.
    • Conduct root cause analysis for defects and implement preventative measures.
    • Collaborate with development teams to review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents.
  • Tools and Technologies:
    • Stay updated with the latest testing tools and technologies; recommend and implement appropriate solutions.
    • Manage and maintain testing tools and environments.
  • Performance and Load Testing:
    • Plan and execute performance and load testing to ensure scalability and reliability of applications.
  • Reporting and Metrics:
    • Develop and monitor quality metrics to evaluate product performance.
    • Prepare detailed reports on testing progress, defect status, and overall product quality to stakeholders.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.
Certificates and Licenses: None required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:   
  • 7+ years of experience in quality assurance, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Proven experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, Cypress).
  • Strong knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript for automation scripting.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) and practices.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively as part of a team, maintaining strong relationships with peers and outside of the department.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Experience working remotely as part of a decentralized Agile team
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and assume full responsibility for delivering projects on time.
  • Flexibility to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), software testing concepts, and test methodologies.
  • Ability to travel up to 5% of the time
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.); Web proficiency.
  • Ability to clear required background check.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Certification in QA or Testing (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE) is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or related field

Compensation & Benefits: Stride, Inc. considers a person’s education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the position’s work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value when determining a new employee’s salary level.  Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position’s level and expected contribution, and the employee’s benefits elections.  Offers will typically be in the bottom half of the range.
  • We anticipate the salary range to be $113,073.75- $250,819.20. The upper end of this range is not likely to be offered, as an individual’s compensation can vary based on several factors. These factors include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions. Eligible employees may receive a bonus. Stride offers a robust benefits package for eligible employees that can include health benefits, retirement contributions, and paid time off.
