General Description:
The Talent Acquisition Consultant (TAC) provides consultative recruitment services to assigned divisions and campuses, supporting effective and compliant hiring practices across the College. This role partners closely with hiring managers or designees to deliver full-cycle recruitment services, ensure consistent application of policies and procedures, and support the College’s efforts to attract and retain a highly qualified and diverse workforce.
The TAC contributes to recruitment strategy development, supports workforce planning efforts, and helps identify opportunities to improve hiring processes and outcomes. This role balances strong client service with sound judgment, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Duties and Tasks:
Manage full-cycle recruitment processes for assigned positions, including high-demand and hard-to-fill roles, utilizing targeted sourcing and outreach strategies. Support recruitment efforts for hard-to-fill positions by identifying sourcing challenges, recommending alternative approaches, and partnering with hiring managers or designees to improve outcomes. Serve as the primary point of contact for hiring managers and search committees, providing guidance and support throughout the hiring process, including coordination of screening, interviews, and selection activities. Provide consultative guidance to hiring managers on recruitment strategies, workforce needs, and best practices, recommending solutions to support successful hiring outcomes. Provide guidance and training to hiring managers and search committees on recruitment processes, interview practices, and compliance requirements. Ensure all recruitment activities comply with applicable federal and state laws, as well as DHRM, VCCS, and College policies, while promoting fair, transparent, and consistent hiring practices. Support a positive candidate experience and promote the College as an employer of choice through effective communication and participation in recruitment outreach efforts. Maintain accurate recruitment documentation and data integrity, and support continuous improvement of recruitment processes, including tracking basic metrics and identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Collaborate with HR team members and stakeholders to support consistent service delivery, contribute to special projects, and share best practices

Ensure compliance with applicable policies and regulations. Support a positive candidate, and hiring manager and search committee experience. Maintain accurate documentation and data integrity. Contribute to process improvement and team initiatives.

Special Assignments | May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications | Required KSAs: Working knowledge of recruitment principles, practices, and procedures in a complex organization. Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and guidelines. Strong consulting, client service, and relationship-building skills. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to analyze information, identify issues, and recommend practical solutions. Proficiency with HR systems, applicant tracking systems, and standard office software. Ability to maintain confidentiality, integrity and exercise sound judgment.
Minimum Qualifications: Progressively responsible experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, human resources, or a related field. Experience supporting or coordinating full-cycle recruitment processes. Experience providing client service or consultative support. Experience demonstrating the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Considerations | Experience in higher education, public sector, or a multi-unit organization. Experience supporting recruitment in a high-volume environment. Familiarity with DHRM and/or VCCS policies and procedures. Experience using applicant tracking systems (e.g., PageUp, NATS, or similar). Experience supporting recruitment outreach or engagement efforts (e.g., job fairs, events).
