Position Summary

The InterScience Center's mission is to create a community of scientists and scholars to foster equality, cooperation, and dialogue in science and technology at NYU and beyond. The Center aims at advancing inclusion and sense of belonging among scientists of different gender, race, sexual orientation, and culture. The InterScience Center will be a physical and virtual center for seminars, workshops, events, networking,  leadership training, new policies in academia, collaborations, mentoring, as well as it will provide a centralized, orchestrated voice that will coordinate efforts across the different initiatives. 
The InterScience Center Manager will be responsible for managing operations, programs and events at the Center. Responsible for implementing and developing the policy and strategy and marketing communications plan as defined by the Center Directors. This position will help to launch activities at the Center and propose creative and innovative ideas for developing and managing the center. Responsible for budget management, project management and supervision. This is a fixed term grant funded position for 3 years.


Required Education:

Bachelor's Degree in management, business, marketing, education sciences, social sciences, law or related field.

Preferred Education:

Doctoral Degree Ph.D. in Anthropology; Sociology, Social Sciences, Clinical sociology Master's Degree in management, business, marketing, education sciences, social sciences, law or related field

Required Experience:

5+ years experience in higher education, startup, supervision, budget management, project management, or event management.

Preferred Experience:

3+ years experience in a university or academic setting

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

Excellent organizational, communication, project management and interpersonal skills; Analytical and problem-solving skills; Marketing and communication skills; Operational Vision, Customer service focused, Responsive; Adaptable; Ability to prioritize; and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $60,000.00 to USD $80,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
